Important Updates

April 5, 2020 For Immediate Release RE: Spring 2020 Recreation Season

Dear WHYS Family,

As we are all currently aware of what is going on around us, the WHYS Board had continued to hold hope though these trying times that our players and families would be able to participate in a spring soccer season. Our governing organization, Tennessee Soccer Association, had taken a week to week approach on returning to play, taking into account recommendations from health professionals, the CDC and the National Federation. The last announced date that the no-play could be lifted was May 1, 2020. Tonight the WHYS board agreed that this date would more than likely be extended again, and even an abbreviated spring season would be difficult to attain. As of today, the White House Youth Soccer Spring 2020 recreation season has been cancelled. We came to this decision with heavy hearts because of the number of players we had this season was one of our largest ever. We were a week or so away from starting games when this pandemic hit, and we could not wait to see everyone at the complex for that first week of games. However, with all the safer at home regulations handed down by state and local authorities, we felt we could not wait and see any longer, and decided to end the season.

What now?
Please do not email our board members about your refund. Starting Tuesday April 7th, you will be able to get on our website and choose the option you desire for your spring players. Those options will be as follows:
1) A refund. Due to website transaction fees and credit card processing fees, we cannot offer a full 100% refund. We will be able to refund the registration fee minus $7.00/player back to you. While we did have some season expenses incurred, we are choosing not to pass those along to you. Only the web transaction fee and credit card processing fees will be covered by the $7/player deduction. What remains will be refunded to you upon choosing that option. Please allow time for fees to be returned.
2) You can choose to have your spring registration fees rolled over to the upcoming Fall recreation season. All we will have to know is you want your player(s) to be placed in the fall season and we will do the rest.
3) You can also choose to donate your spring season fees. All fees that are donated will be distributed to local restaurants in White House to assist these businesses in this time of uncertainty. These businesses and their owners not only support our own organization, but many, many others in our community and we wanted to take the opportunity to give back. Your registration fee amount minus the $7/player is the amount that will be donated.
Once you choose your option, you will submit your response and then we can begin the process of refunding or rolling over to Fall season. Within a few days you can log into your account on our website and see that your refunds are in process or your players are in the fall season (when we open the fall season). If you choose the donation option you will be shown as still registered for the spring season, and you will need to complete a new fall season registration once we have opened it.

Once again, we thank you for your patience as we tried to keep the spring season an option week after week. We are already in the process of planning an activity or two during the summer when things return to normal, and we are also already planning for the Fall season, and possibly even an expanded fall season! We hope all of you are safe. To those families who have medical personnel, first responders, or have essential jobs, THANK YOU and please continue to be safe.

Best regards and we look forward to the day when we see everyone again,
